Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Blade Nzimande says bringing back the death penalty will not solve the country’s problems.

Justice Minister Ronald Lamola has promised to take calls for a referendum for the return of the death sentence to Cabinet. This comes amid rising violence against women, particularly in the wake of the brutal rape and murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana.
