Countrywide outrage against attacks on women and children is gaining momentum in South Africa, with several organisations pleading for something to be done.

In the Mother City, the Chancellor of the University of Cape Town, Graça Machel, has urged everyone to pledge to take action to ensure that South Africa is a safe country for women and children.

She was speaking at the memorial service for first-year student Uyinene Mrwetyana, who was raped and murdered last week after visiting a Post Office.
