Early predictions are that petrol’s going up by seven cents a litre next month.  

According to the Automobile Association, there could be a reprieve for diesel users with costs set to go down by 20 cents a litre.

The AA’s Layton Beard says while the mid-month fuel picture is a good indicator of what will happen next month – things can change.

“We have to point out though that the volatility of the markets as well as of the Rand-US Dollar exchange rate could mean that this picture will change by the end of the month and going into August,” Beard said.
